Safe House – Family Defense Association, Nablus

The Safe House, established in 1999 by the Family Defense Association in Nablus, is the first shelter of its kind in Palestine. It provides a secure and supportive environment for women and girls who have experienced violence, along with their children.

The center offers comprehensive services, including shelter, psychological and social support, legal counseling, vocational training, and recreational and emotional relief activities for children. Since 2011, it has supported over 530 women, focusing on restoring self-confidence and promoting independence.

Managed by a dedicated team of social workers and counselors, the Safe House collaborates with both governmental and non-governmental organizations to ensure holistic care for survivors of violence. Despite financial challenges and funding shortages, the Safe House continues to play a vital role in protecting and empowering Palestinian women.
